That's how many years it has been that you have been gone. I still miss you. I think of you often, but now after all this time I can do that without sadness. There is still a bittersweetness, I remember your laughter, your sense of humour, your empathy, your friendship, so many things, with a smile on my face. There is also a tinge of ... call it regret maybe, when I look at my kids and realise that they never had a chance to know you, and that you never had the chance to explore having your own family, and that you missed out on so many years of life, both the ups and downs.
I feel you with me sometimes, I still tell you things that I know you would want to hear, and I am sure you do. I believe you are happy, and so am I.
Rest well my beautiful Jane, long gone, but never forgotten xxx

17
That's how many kangaroos I counted lounging around at the end of my street today. Funny to think there are people in the world who have never seen a kangaroo in real life, yet I can get close enough to count their eyelashes at times. Its great to live in Canberra, a sense of the bush, with city benefits round the corner.

14
14 years married. We have had our share of ups and downs to make it to where we are, and it was all worth it. Each year is better than the last. Looking forward to 14 more.

how things look from here
Some mornings after taking the girls to school I like to sit out front and just look at the view. This particular morning I sat with my camera and clicked a couple of shots. My dog sat beside me, tongue hanging out watching the kangaroos, and happy to have company.

I have been playing around with some Photoshop Actions that I downloaded from Coffeeshop. This one is the Perfect Portraits action, and my first attempt.

Slow down
You my son are growing up just way too fast. You are officially taller than me now, you have had bigger feet for ages, and your hands are bigger than mine too. At 13 I can see glimpes of the man you are becoming, but I dont mind if you take things a bit slower, take a bit longer to grow up, its OK really xxx
